Terms of use

Version 1, effective 2026-09-19. You accept these terms when you turn voice on in the mod. The community rules, the in-game notice and this page together are the terms of service.

The short version. This is a free service run by one person in their spare time. Follow the rules, don’t abuse the relay, and understand it may break or stop. Illegal and harmful speech gets you banned. You can report anyone, and you can appeal a ban.

1. Who provides the service

The WynnVoiceChat relay (“the service”) is provided by DevScyu (Scyu_ on Discord), an individual in the United Kingdom, not a company. DevScyu is the person responsible for the service, including its safety duties under the UK Online Safety Act 2023.

Contact: privacy@wynnvoicechat.com for anything about your data or these terms, safety@wynnvoicechat.com to report someone, or our Discord.

The WynnVoiceChat mod itself is free software under the LGPL-3.0-only licence; that licence, not these terms, governs the code.

2. What the service is, and isn’t

The service relays live voice between players of Wynncraft who have installed the mod and Simple Voice Chat. It is independent and community-made. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or part of Wynncraft, Wynntils, or Simple Voice Chat, and none of them are responsible for it.

3. Who may use it

You must be 13 or older. The in-game notice you accept before voice turns on says so, and by accepting it you confirm your age. If we learn that a user is under 13 we remove their access and delete their records (see the privacy notice). Wynncraft’s own rules apply to anything you say on voice.

4. What you agree not to do

The community rules are part of these terms. On top of them, you agree not to:

5. Keeping voice safe

The relay carries live voice only. Nothing is published or stored where other players can find it later, so “taking content down” here means stopping the person: cutting their voice, blocking them for you, or banning them for everyone. This section says how that works.

No automated scanning. We do not use any automated or proactive technology to listen to or analyse voice. The only thing that is ever reviewed is the last two minutes of speech attached to a report, and a person reviews it. If that ever changes, this section will say what technology is used, when, and how.

Illegal content. We do not allow speech that is illegal in the UK, and we act as soon as we are made aware of it:

In every case, the moment a moderator confirms a report, that person’s connection to the relay is cut so the speech stops; the ban then keeps them off.

Intimate images. The relay cannot carry images. If you believe an intimate image of you is being shared through the service in any way, tell us at safety@wynnvoicechat.com with “intimate image report” in the subject; we act within 48 hours.

Not allowed for anyone, at any age. So that no child can meet it here, the following is banned for every user: pornographic or sexual content; content encouraging suicide; content encouraging self-harm; content encouraging eating disorders. Breaking this rule is a ban.

Protecting younger players. Because players from 13 up use this service, the rules also ban for everyone: abuse or hate aimed at someone’s race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability or gender reassignment; encouraging serious violence; bullying; dangerous challenges and stunts; encouraging use of drugs or other harmful substances. Reports about these are handled the same way as any other report. We do not use age checks beyond the 13+ confirmation; the ban for everyone is how younger players are protected.

6. Reporting

7. Moderation and bans

Volunteer moderators from the community review reports by listening to the clip. They are not Wynncraft staff and their decisions concern this service only: Wynncraft treats voice on this service like a private call and does not act on ordinary voice reports, so send those to us, not to Wynncraft. The exceptions are the cases in section 5 that we forward to them. Depending on what they hear they may:

A ban means the relay refuses your connection for that time. You are told the reason in game. Bans are applied the same way to everyone.

We may also suspend or end anyone’s access where we reasonably believe it necessary to protect other players or the service, and we will say why.

8. Complaints and appeals

If you were warned, banned, or otherwise restricted and you think it was wrong, or you made a report and think it was wrongly dismissed, you can appeal:

  1. Open a post in the #ban-appeals forum on our Discord. Only you and the moderators can see it. If you can’t use Discord, e-mail privacy@wynnvoicechat.com.
  2. Say which account, when, and why you think the decision was wrong.
  3. A moderator who did not make the original decision reviews it, listening to the clip again, and answers promptly, normally within a week.
  4. If your appeal is upheld the ban is lifted and the record is corrected. If it is not, you are told why. Repeated appeals with nothing new may be closed without a further answer.

Complaints about how the service itself handles safety, for example that we did not act on a report, go to the same places.

Your legal right. If you are suspended or banned from the service in breach of these terms, you have the right to bring a claim against us for breach of contract.

9. Your voice and reports

You keep all rights in what you say. You give the service permission to relay your voice to the players you have chosen to be heard by, to hold the last two minutes of your speech in memory, and, when a report is made, to store that audio for 30 days and show it to the moderators through Discord, all as described in the privacy notice. That is the whole of the permission; it is not used for anything else.

10. Availability

The service is free, run by volunteers, and provided as it is. It may be slow, may drop, may change, and may be shut down, temporarily or for good, without notice. We do not promise any level of uptime or audio quality, or support for any particular version of Minecraft, Wynncraft or Simple Voice Chat.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

We are not responsible for what other players say on voice; section 5 describes what we do about it. Beyond that, we are responsible only for loss that is a foreseeable result of our failing to take reasonable care, and not for loss of game progress, items, or time. Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to £50.

You are responsible for what you say on voice. Wynncraft’s rules and the law apply to you directly.

12. Changes

We may change these terms. When we do, the version and date at the top change, and the mod asks you to accept the new terms before voice turns back on; you are free to say no and stop using the service. Substantial changes are also announced on our Discord.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You may bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales; if you live in another part of the UK, or in the EU, you may bring it in your local courts instead, and you keep any protection your local consumer law gives you that cannot be excluded by agreement.
